Libraries and ARES labs for schools in the Philippines

In February 2020 Afretech installed school libraries in four schools and ARES labs in three.

ARES was designed for rural Kenya, but the same problems of no internet, unreliable power and too few books exist in many places. In February 2020 an Afretech team took the program to the Philippines.

Afretech's goal is to develop a program like the Kenyan one for isolated schools in the remote islands of the Philippines.

ARES Model Schools: moving digital learning from the lab into the classroom

Starting January 2027, five pilot schools will use ARES in every classroom, every day, with lesson plans, live quizzes and progress tracking built with SeaVuria.

How ARES teacher training and support work

Hardware is the easy part. Training, maintenance and follow-up are what make ARES succeed.

SeaVuria's STEM lesson plans and teacher programs are joining ARES, starting with the Model Schools pilot.

Why ARES works offline

Internet access is expensive, unreliable and unsafe for most rural schools, so ARES was designed to run without it.
